APEDA registration or registration-cum-membership-certification (RCMC) is provided by the APEDA authorities to exporters of Scheduled food products under APEDA ACT. Without having an RCMC membership, no exporter can commence their business for enlisted food products as per the guidelines.

Any person or food business operator indulging in the export of one or more food products listed under the First Schedule and Second Schedule of th APEDA act, all such Businesses and individuals are eligible for APEDA Registration as per the guidelines given in sub-section (1) of Section 12 of the APED act.
Exporters are expected to acquire APEDA registration within the one month of incorporation of their business.

To apply for APEDA registration, exporters must submit the following essential documents:
• Import-Export Code (IEC) issued by DGFT
• Bank certificate with authorized signatory
• Bank statement for the last 2 months
• Cancelled cheque of the business account
• GST Registration Certificate
• Duly filled and signed APEDA Registration Form
Additional Documents Required for Manufacturer Exporters:
• Central FSSAI License for food manufacturers
• DIS/SIA certificate from the Department of Horticulture (for scheduled food products under APEDA)
• Certificate of Incorporation of the firm (Partnership Firm if applicable)
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pollution Control Board
• MSME Certificate (if applicable)
• Halal Certificate (if applicable)

• The RCMC license will be auto-renewed after every 5 years. Once the fee is submitted, no additional document or submission is required.
APEDA registration can be cancelled under certain conditions if the exporter fails to meet the required guidelines, as outlined below:
• Suppose an exporter registered to conduct the export business of a scheduled food product fails to carry business for 12 consecutive months. In that case, shall revoke the APEDA Registration as per section (11) of the rules of the APEDA act.
• For any person who has obtained the certificate by furnishing incorrect information, the APEDA authority will cancel all such registration.
• Any person who conflicts with the rules and regulations of the act shall cancel their registration as per the guidelines.
• The registration-cum-membership-certificate (APEDA Registration) is valid for 5 years.
• The RCMC license will be auto-renewed after every 5 years. Once the fee is submitted, no additional document or submission is required.

There are penalties for not following the rules under the APEDA Act, as follows:
• Any person who disobeys or attempts to breach provisions made under this act shall be punishable with imprisonment for 6 months or a fine of Rs. 1,000 as per the laid guidelines.
• Repeated offenders shall be fined additional Rs. 50 per day from the day of the first infringement to the date of conviction.
• If a company commits the offence, every person who at the time of the offence was in charge shall be deemed guilty as well as the company and shall be punished accordingly.
